There’s no exact age limit, however after the age of 35, egg quantity and quality rapidly declines. Therefore, the highest chance of a successful pregnancy is most likely to be achieved when freezing eggs before the age of 34. Nonetheless, if you are over the age of 35 then it may just mean that you might have to undergo multiple cycles to reach an adequate number of eggs. Every person is different, therefore the clinic will make an assessment of your ovarian reserve before suggesting whether to proceed or not. It’s also important to be aware of the risks of a pregnancy later in life, especially when freezing your eggs over the age of 40, the likelihood of a future pregnancy is very slim and therefore may not be the recommended option for this group of people bearing in mind the associated risk and cost implications. We would recommend taking our Hertility test in the first instance so that you are able to check and monitor your ovarian reserve and hormones to help you to make informed choices.
