When you're ready, your eggs are warmed and fertilised with your partner's or a donor's sperm, usually by injecting a single sperm into each egg (ICSI) to create embryos. A resulting embryo is then transferred into a uterus, whether that's yours, a partner's or a surrogate's, so using frozen eggs is essentially a full IVF cycle. One thing to keep in mind: not every frozen egg will survive thawing, fertilise and go on to become a pregnancy, so it's not a guarantee of having a baby. That's why your age and egg count at the time of freezing make such a difference. For more, see our blog "Egg Freezing Process Explained".
