You have been advised to have a pelvic scan because your Hertility test results combined with your medical history indicated a reason for further investigation. For example you may have been experiencing period problems or pelvic pain or/ and reported a history of STI’s (sexually transmitted infections) such as chlamydia and gonorrhoea which may have caused caused damage or other conditions if there is pain still present after recovery or a previous history of confirmed or suspected cysts, endometriosis or fibroids. The scan will be looking for the potential cause of pain such as internal structural abnormalities, possible endometriosis, fibroids and would determine if you have polycystic ovaries/ cysts in your ovaries. If already known, it can determine the number of cysts, the sizes and the number of follicles.
