You have been advised to have this scan because you have indicated that you are either actively trying to get pregnant (6+ months) or planning treatment, you have confirmed or suspected PCOS or there has been a discrepancy in your Hertility test results for example, high FSH, AMH in-range or high. Anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) is a hormone given off by developing follicles, which are the sacs containing your immature eggs. As we age, AMH and the number of follicles naturally declines. However, people with PCOS often have elevated AMH levels, which is likely to be due to the larger number of follicles they have in the early stage of development.
